About Marianna
A poet and educator, Marianna Ariel ColesCurtis lives and teaches in the desert of Tucson, Arizona, rightful homeland of the Tohono O'odham and Pascua Yaqui peoples. They write about prisons, ancestry, outskirts, resurgence, and end times. Their work can be found in Yes Poetry, Hunger Mountain, Sundog Lit, and more.
In the writing classroom, Marianna seeks to help students find and create moments when words push beyond what seems possible and show us more fully what it means to be alive.
I strive to create a classroom community where students feel safe enough to take risks in the midst of critical engagement. As co-conspirators, we pursue the weird, the wild, and the outlandish!
