Interlochen’s Performing Arts Series has been finalized! The Series promises to be an eclectic mix of talent and pure entertainment. Whether you’re a theatre buff, a fan of the classics, a modern art aficionado or a popular culture addict makes no difference. This Series holds a little something for everyone.
The Series kicks off with two dynamic performances.
“Riders in the Sky offer a unique and entertaining show for families that is outside of the everyday experience,” explains Chris Gruits, the newly appointed director of Presents at Interlochen Center for the Arts. “Their songs are funny, smart and hearken back to another time when cowboys roamed out west. They’re a genuinely extraordinary cowboy quartet that will surprise and delight. Most kids will know their music right away from their work on the ‘Toy Story’ movies with ‘Woody’s Roundup,’ and on ‘Monsters Inc.’ Now’s their chance to hear them in person."
“And Chris Mann is a rising star in the musical world and can really sing it all,” Gruits continued. “He has a tremendous voice and is a really exceptional entertainer. If any audience members remember him from ‘The Voice,’ or his recent PBS special, they’ll know they’re in for a fantastic evening of song. It’s his first appearance in the area and audiences should take this opportunity to see him now. He’s definitely on the rise and we don’t know when we’ll be able to have him back.”
