Chapman Stick Retreat
Gain valuable skills, hone techniques, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Chapman Stick players in a one-of-a-kind four-day workshop.
Led by master performers and teachers, you’ll engage in hands-on sessions that will support and inspire beginning, intermediate, and advanced players. Topics covered in the program include:
- Fretboard harmony
- Chords
- Baselines
- Solo and accompaniment performance techniques
- Hand coordination
- Reading
- Arranging
- Performing in odd meters
You’ll also enjoy a performance by the retreat’s faculty and play side-by-side with fellow participants during the closing session on the final day.

You must be able to bring your own Chapman Stick, amplifier, and cords to the workshop. A notebook and writing utensil (or laptop or tablet) to take notes is also helpful.
