Giving to Interlochen
A gift to Interlochen is more than a donation: it's an investment in the life of an emerging artist. By sustaining a community in which talents are nurtured and cross-cultural bonds are forged, you cultivate the next generation of performers, audiences, and creative changemakers.
Here are ways you can support our mission.
The Interlochen Annual Fund fuels the very heart of Interlochen's mission: our students. Your gift to the Annual Fund provides scholarships, ensuring that students from all backgrounds have access to unparalleled educational experiences.
The Annual Fund also sustains the people and resources that make the Interlochen experience transformational: guest artists, student tours and performances, costumes, musical scores, art equipment, and more.

When you support Interlochen Public Radio (IPR), you connect the people of northern Michigan to each other—and the world—by supporting our broadcast of music, news, and culture. Your gift to the Interlochen Public Radio Annual Fund powers original programming on issues of importance to our region and introduces new audiences to the wonder of classical music. Your gift will continue an innovative legacy of public broadcasting that began with our founder Joe Maddy. Click the IPR Giving Opportunities button to learn more or make an online gift now.
Named Annual Scholarships
Named annual scholarships are created and renewed annually to support and unlock young artists' potential. Donors establish these scholarships with a $10,000 or more annual recurring gift, or a $5,000 recurring gift that is also supported through the donor's estate. Learn more about named annual scholarships in the link below.
Endowed Scholarships
In 2021, Interlochen awarded over $16 million in financial aid to 1,419 Camp and Academy students. Endowed scholarships ensure that current and future generations will have the opportunity to find their passion and purpose at Interlochen. Each year, about 300 of our Academy and Camp students have the opportunity to experience Interlochen because a generous donor supported their potential through an endowed scholarship. Learn more about endowed scholarships in the link below.
A gift to our endowment is a permanent investment in Interlochen. When you make an endowment gift, we invest the funds and use the earnings to support endowed scholarships, faculty positions, visiting artist opportunities, programs, and arts areas. A portion of these earnings is reinvested, ensuring that the endowed fund will retain its buying power for years to come. Endowed funds can be named after the donor or their designee. You can make a special gift to help Interlochen meet current, strategic priorities with an immediate and long-lasting impact. You can make a planned gift now that will provide opportunities for the creative change-makers of tomorrow. There is a range of planned giving options you could consider for your estate planning. Learn more about planning giving options.
