Guest Artist Recital: Lanta Horn Duo in "Amplifying Women's Voices"

The Lanta Horn Duo consists of hornists Lauren Hunt (Interlochen's Linda Van Sickle Smith Horn Chair and Director of Brass Studies) and Katy Ambrose (Assistant Professor of Horn at the University of Iowa), in collaboration with pianist Ya-Ju Chuang. This recital presents repertoire for two horns and piano composed by women from a variety of backgrounds, along with discussion of experiences that many women share in male-dominated spaces. The program includes a newly-commissioned work by Alyssa Weinberg about a person's experience with intimate partner violence. Other featured composers include Amy Beach, Gina Gillie, Catherine Likhuta, Clara Schumann, and Andrea Clearfield.
