British performer-playwright Noël Coward lampoons the life of a self-absorbed actor in his semi-autobiographical comedy Present Laughter. On the eve of his departure for a performance tour in Africa, fictional actor Garry Essendine navigates a series of farcical interactions—including several seduction attempts, frantic comings and goings by members of his entourage, and the persistent hounding of an aspiring playwright. Join the Arts Academy Theatre Division and director Stephen John for a mirthful reflection on fame and vanity.
