International Students at Camp

Artists like you come from all over the world to make Interlochen their home for the summer.

Flags from a variety of nations

Every year, 3,000 students hailing from all corners of the globe come here to study music, theatre, visual arts, creative writing, film and new media, interdisciplinary arts, and dance. On average, 230 international campers come from 40 different countries to spend their summer with us. As an international student, you are an integral part of our community of artists. You'll have the chance to learn from the best, develop your talents, and create lifelong bonds while immersing yourself in the natural beauty of northern Michigan.

We are international. We are Interlochen.

It's so diverse. There's people from all over the world, with so many talents ... and they inspire you each day to be better. It's a great opportunity to grow as a person.

How to Apply

What does Interlochen do for homesick students?

It is not uncommon for students of all ages to miss home during their first day or two at Interlochen, especially if they are on their first extended trip away from home. Our residence life staff is trained to identify when students are having a difficult time and to help them enjoy their experience. Actually, it's more common for a parent to be more homesick than their student, who is usually focused on their classes, activities, and making new friends.
