Sarah Mankins (IAA 95-97) was recently named to the annual list of America's Top Women Wealth Advisors for 2022 by Forbes and SHOOK Research. Mankins ranked No. 28 among Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-in-State in Ohio. To compile the list, researchers conducted more than 16,000 interviews with nominees, evaluating each on criteria including client service, compliance records, community involvement, the investment process, assets under care, and tenure in the industry. Mankins has served investors for 11 years as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in Mount Vernon, OH.
Obadiah Baker (IAC 97-98, IAA 99-01) who is currently pursuing his Ed.D in leadership and management at Drexel University is a recipient of a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award for 2022-2023. Baker will study the cross-cultural replication and power of shadow dance as a conflict resolution and global peace intervention technique in Israel. Baker will focus on the interplay of Israeli Gaga and American shadow dance on Israeli Jewish students' awareness of race and identity.
Steven Banks (IAC 11, IAC St 15) is one of five musicians recognized with a 2022 Avery FIsher Career Grant at a ceremony on March 22, 2022 in New York City. Banks is the first saxophonist to be honored with a Career Grant, which is given annually by the Avery Fisher Artist Program to provide professional assistance and recognition to talented instrumentalists and chamber ensembles who have great potential for major careers. Recipients receive an award of $25,000, to be used for specific needs in advancing their career. Banks is a classical saxophonist, composer, baritone saxophonist of the award-winning Kenari Quartet—with fellow alumnus Corey Dundee (IAC 08-09, IAC St 12)—and Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Ithaca College.
