This program gathers dedicated and talented high school clarinetists from all over the globe. Our faculty of world-renowned musicians and educators are here to support your development. This program is your opportunity to dive into the clarinet and develop your technique, expression, and poise.

What You'll Learn

With small class sizes, our faculty are able to focus on you and your progress. Our rigorous program will develop your skills in the clarinet while helping you improve time management, confidence, and collaboration.

Our curriculum includes:

  • Master classes

  • Solo repertoire (Concerti, sonatas, etc.)
  • Orchestral Excerpts
  • Études

Students may also participate in:

  • College audition workshops

Program Highlights

Distinguished Faculty

Our faculty of professional musicians and educators teach at Interlochen Arts Academy, conservatories, and beyond. They are professional artists who are active participants in the music world. Our faculty are thoughtful, supportive, and eager to guide you on your music journey.

The Music Center

Our state-of-the-art music facility has two 3,500 square-foot rehearsal halls, two recording studios which allow for rehearsal and performance recordings in multiple venues on campus, multiple ensemble and practice rooms, and individual faculty teaching studios. Learn more about The Music Center.

Additional Opportunities

You are welcome to apply for our multi-week, ensemble-based Orchestra & Wind Ensemble program, which takes place immediately following this one-week intensive.

Interlochen is also home to the Arts Academy boarding high school, which offers six music programs for grades 9-12, as well as a postgraduate year.
