Classical Guitar Summer Program for Grades 6-8


Why Take Classical Guitar

With repertoire ranging from lute transcriptions to Spanish masterpieces, the guitar is one of the world’s most versatile instruments. Whether you want to play Bach, Tàrrega, or Villa-Lobos, the Classical Guitar camp program will help you hone your skills and master new techniques through one-on-one instruction, ensemble coaching, and seminars.

What You’ll Learn

The Classical Guitar summer program offers a dynamic curriculum designed for students to make visible progress. The program provides instruction in nylon-string classical guitar.

As a student in the guitar camp, you will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the fretboard
  • Develop ensemble skills with your peers in an exciting and supportive environment
  • Learn improved practice methods and time management skills
  • Develop an approach to mastering the guitar’s fundamental techniques
  • Perform in recitals and performance classes

You’ll enjoy daily rehearsals led by our acclaimed guitar faculty and develop your artistry both on your own and in collaboration with other students. Classes for guitar students include:

  • Private lessons
  • Guitar ensemble

  • Applied musicianship classes
  • Supervised practice sessions
