The Q Brothers fuse classic repertory theatre with hip hop in entertaining and fast-paced original comedic performances. Founded in 1999 by brothers and creative directors GQ and JQ, the ensemble pioneered their "ad-RAP-tation" concept off Broadway with a six-month run of The Bomb-itty of Errors, a remixed version of William Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors. Their repertoire now includes adaptations of A Christmas Carol, The Odyssey (Long Way Home), Lysistrata (ms. estrada), and several more of Shakespeare's works. The troupe also creates improvised hip-hop sets based on audience suggestions.
Hailed by MTV as "nothing short of brilliant," the collective has appeared at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and London’s Globe Theatre, among others.
During their visit to the Interlochen campus, the performers will present a master class for Arts Academy students from several majors.
