Interlochen Arts Academy Wind Symphony and Choir to present “Sounds of the Season” Dec. 16

The annual holiday showcase returns with a selection of holiday tunes, classic stories, and a sing-along led by Santa himself.

Interlochen Arts Academy’s popular holiday showcase Sounds of the Season returns to Corson Auditorium on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at tickets.interlochen.org.

An annual family-friendly favorite that draws friends of Interlochen from across the Grand Traverse region, Sounds of the Season features seasonal tunes from around the world performed by the Interlochen Arts Academy Wind Symphony and Choir, classic holiday stories, and an audience sing-along led by Santa himself. Actor, theatre educator, and Interlochen Arts Academy alumna Shelby Lewis will host the performance.

The Interlochen Arts Academy Wind Symphony presents a diverse and challenging repertoire under the guidance of Dr. Matthew Schlomer. The Wind Symphony regularly performs on and beyond Interlochen’s campus in live, pre-recorded, and public radio settings. The ensemble regularly engages with northern Michigan’s youth music community, frequently performing with or for music students at local elementary and middle schools and presenting Kids Commute Live! in partnership with Interlochen Public Radio.

Interlochen Arts Academy’s largest vocal ensemble, the Arts Academy Choir welcomes students of all majors who are passionate about singing. Under the direction of conductor John Bragle, the choir presents works from a variety of genres, musical eras, and geographic origins and performs regularly on and off campus.

In compliance with Interlochen’s COVID-19 policy, all visitors must wear masks while inside campus buildings and for the duration of the performance. COVID-19 vaccines are strongly recommended for those eligible.
