Megan Walton appointed Interlochen’s inaugural Vice Provost of Student Life
In this new role, Walton will oversee the out-of-the-classroom student experience at Interlochen.
Megan Walton, an education leader with a 25-year career in boarding and day school settings, has been appointed the inaugural Vice Provost of Student Life at Interlochen Center for the Arts. In this new role, Walton will oversee the out-of-the-classroom student experience at Interlochen.
“Our Interlochen search committee unanimously selected Megan for this newly created leadership role,” said Interlochen Center for the Arts Provost Camille Colatosti. “With a deep understanding and appreciation for residential learning communities, Megan will advance our holistic approach to education, encouraging the development of both intellectual and emotional intelligence. We can’t wait for her to join our Interlochen community.”
“As an educational leader, I believe in creating a learning environment focused on both the mind and heart,” Walton said. “Our interpersonal relationships with students are critical to guiding their decision-making process and future contributions to the global citizenry. I look forward to working with students, families, faculty, and staff at Interlochen.”
In her new role, Walton will lead the Student Affairs team, which includes Health Services, Recreation and Wellness, and Residence Life. She will also oversee the Student Representative Board, student clubs, and all-campus community meetings.
Over the course of her career, Megan has served as an administrator, teacher, mentor, coach, counselor, and advisor. Most recently, she served as the assistant head of school at Besant Hill School, an independent boarding school, in Ojai, California.
Walton will begin her new role in July.
