Acting for Drama

Strengthen your dramatic acting skills for different genres, including TV procedurals, serial dramas, and hybrid TV and film.
This four-week course is designed to expand and deepen your ability to create compelling dramatic narratives in a way that is uniquely yours. You'll learn specific techniques to embody dramatic style and tone, mastering the art of navigating big emotions, understanding subtext, and creating authentic, believable characters. You'll explore how to analyze scripts through a dramatic lens, identifying genre, form, and structure.
As the course progresses, you'll hone your ability to adapt your performance to different storytelling formats, adapting to the nuances of procedural dramas, serial dramas, and hybrid genres. Throughout the course, you'll participate in practical exercises and assignments designed to reinforce your learning and build your confidence. You'll analyze scenes, practice emotional depth, and refine your audition techniques. By applying these skills, you'll not only complete several polished dramatic performances but also gain a solid foundation in drama that will support your future creative endeavors.

- Completion of Acting for Comedy and Auditioning for TV and Film are recommended, but not required.
