Anne Cooper
About Anne
Anne Cooper (SAG/AFTRA and AEA) made her motion picture debut in Crimewave with a small role alongside Frances McDormand. She built her career as a character actor and continues to work today.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Michigan University and attended LAMDA. A student of Uta Hagen, Michael Schurleff, and Gary Austin of Groundlings fame, she has worked with influential film and TV directors such as Sam Raimi, Paul Schrader, Tom Segura, and Kat Coiro (alumna) and performed with Angela Lansbury, Mary Beth Hurt, William Hurt, Danny DeVito, Jennifer Lopez, and John Bradley. She can be heard performing new plays on the Open-Door Playhouse podcast which has supported playwrights, actors, and directors during the pandemic.
In addition to her acting career, Ms. Cooper has directed and developed plays both in New York City and Los Angeles. She is a theatre consultant to LA GOAL, which provides services for adults with developmental disabilities. Her students can be seen on TV, film, and Broadway. She is on the summer theatre faculty at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Ms. Cooper currently works in Los Angeles as an actor, director, and audition/acting coach.
I believe the process of acting—including comic timing—can be taught and is a lifelong study. The magic of a role starts with "If I...." To be fearless, one must not fear failure. Leap! You will fly.
