Carol Jantsch
About Carol
Carol Jantsch has been Principal Tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 2006. She won this position during her senior year at the University of Michigan, from which she graduated summa cum laude. Outside of her orchestral duties, Carol performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician, from concertos and recitals to salon events. She is active as an educator, presenting clinics and masterclasses around the world, and is a faculty member at Yale University School of Music. Carol also enjoys transcribing and arranging works for solo tuba and various chamber ensembles. Her three pet projects are Tubular, her tuba cover band; the Rising Stars Podcast, in which she interviews brass players from underrepresented demographics; and Tubas For Good, a nonprofit that provides musical instruments and opportunities to students in Philadelphia. TFG is proud to have Yamaha as a partner, and Carol is a Yamaha performing artist. More information is available at www.caroljantsch.com, where all proceeds from the online store go to Tubas For Good.
