Darya Barna
About Darya
Darya Barna joined Interlochen in the fall of 2021. She is a native of Connecticut where she earned dual Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance from Ithaca College. She then taught music in both public schools and privately across New York state and Washington, D.C. before earning her master's degree from the University of Maryland.
Along the way Barna has worked across multiple nonprofit arts organizations undertaking leadership roles focused on improving and providing opportunities for education outreach and accessible community arts programs. Today she is an active member of local arts organizations appearing with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, Old Town Playhouse, and the Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra.
