About John

John Herzog, tenor, is a classical vocalist studying voice performance at Michigan State University.

A committed educator, performer, and mentor, he has sung the roles of "Dr. Caius" in Verdi’s Falstaff, "Monostatos" in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and will debut "Fredrik Egerman" in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music in November 2023.

Previously a history major with Ph.D. ambitions, Herzog made a radical choice to follow his passion for performance and seek a scholarship to study music. He currently studies voice with esteemed tenor Richard Fracker.
