About Kenna
Kenna Savitri Marar is currently teaching visual art at the Interlochen Center for the Arts' Interdisciplinary Art Merge program while also working for Visitors Media, a media marketing firm, as a commercial animator and designer. Marar has come to Interlochen after graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design as recipient of the prestigious 2022 Student Excellence Award in Digital Art & Design. Previously, Marar spent several years working as a gallery docent at the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art in Grand Rapids as well as an illustrator and page designer for the award winning White Pines collegiate press. Marar graduated with honors from the Northwestern Michigan College with an A.S.A. in fine arts.
My goal is to equip students with the vocabulary, tools, and self-confidence to explore and experience art. I want to encourage students to think critically about themselves and their places in the world as artists.
