About Marco

Marco Gómez joined The Royal Danish Orchestra in Copenhagen during the 2022-23 season as the orchestra’s tenor and bass trombonist.

Gómez completed his bachelor's degree at The Juilliard School in New York City, where he was educated by Denson Paul Pollard, Blair Bollinger, and Joseph Alessi. During his studies in New York City, he guest-performed with the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Ballet Orchestras, as well as the Buffalo Philharmonic and Rochester Philharmonic. His playing can also be heard on the original film soundtracks for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Joker and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s tick, tick…Boom!.

Having always aspired to move his performing career to Europe, Gómez spent three summers during his Bachelor’s degree as bass trombonist of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival’s Orchestra Academy, where the orchestra and its chamber groups performed throughout Germany and southern Denmark. Gómez then began his Masters in Trombone Performance with Ian Bousfield in Bern, Switzerland at the Hochschule der Künste Bern before his appointment in Copenhagen.

Gómez completed his senior year of high school at Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied with Tom Riccobono, Jonathan Lombardo (Buffalo Philharmonic), and Matthew Lyon (Ball State University).

Aside from a great passion for playing orchestral and chamber music, he enjoys performing inventive solo programs, having also given a public lecture-recital at the Interlochen Arts Camp.
