About Rob

A believer in the holistic education of children and that music education is critical for their development, Rob Stow has been teaching at Interlochen Arts Camp since 2010 as the music director for the High School Musical Theatre Showcase.

During the school year, Stow teaches at Glen Lake Community Schools, where he was recently promoted to the Performing Arts Coordinator. He strongly believes in providing performing experiences for students of all ages. Previously, Stow taught at Elk Rapids High School and Cherryland Middle School, where he taught from 2003-2022.

Under his direction, choirs have performed and traveled around the State of Michigan, in Europe, Toronto, New York City, and Chicago. He is a sought-after adjudicator of MSVMA, the Michigan School Vocal Music Association. His choirs have also had success at festivals hosted by MSVMA at the regional and state level, earning the highest ratings consistently.

A World Music Percussion and International Baccalaureate certified instructor, Stow is known for his passion in teaching and performing music from around the globe. Stow has three children and is a chronic remodeler, roller coaster fanatic, and sushi lover.

I believe that musical theatre is an art form where we have the responsibility to tell stories that are reflective of the human experience. While I approach this form from the point of view of a musician, I love that there is space for folks of many different backgrounds.
