Sam Dunnington

About Sam
Sam Dunnington is a writer, and teacher of writing, based in Massachusetts. He holds an MFA in Fiction from the University of Montana, and his writing has appeared in publications including Harper's, the Missouri Review, and Fiction, as well as being recognized by Best American Short Stories and Best Small Fictions.
As a teacher, he's worked in settings ranging from universities to youth jails, and he loves supporting writers at any stage of their craft journey. He especially enjoys helping students connect their reading and their writing, and he encourages the people he works with to explore the art of narrative in other elements of their lives.
The writing he loves most engages the reader in many ways: with dynamic plots, with vivid characterization, and with the music and surprise of language itself. He's eager to work with you to find ways to make your writing as exciting as it can be.
