Susanna Self, D.M.A.
About Susanna
Susanna Self is currently piccoloist with the West Texas Symphony, principal flutist with Peninsula Music Festival, and is teaching flute at Interlochen Arts Camp. She has taught at Texas Tech University, Eastern New Mexico University, and Maryville University, and was a certified music therapist from 2010-2020. Before moving to Lubbock Texas, she performed with Saint Louis Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, and Charlotte Symphony.
My goal is to inspire and encourage my students to be curious and experimental with tonal and technical aspects of playing, to find tools to use on their own to solve challenges, and to grow musically through music theory, historical contexts, and personal expression.
