Welcome to Interlochen Arts Camp—a place of unlimited artistic potential, devoted faculty-mentors, beautiful natural setting and facilities, and world-famous arts-focused programming. For decades, teenage students have fallen in love with Interlochen’s high school summer art programs. Here are the details on why you should consider an Interlochen summer camp experience.

1. It’s time to expand your horizons.
Meet individuals from all over the world and learn to better understand diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences. Together you can explore new mediums, discover new techniques, and find new artistic passions that will enable you to thrive in our interconnected world.

2. The lakes are beautiful.
We’re not joking—everyone loves the beautiful surroundings. Interlochen is nestled between two glacial lakes, a gorgeous outdoor environment that provides all our art students with daily inspiration.

3. BFFs happen every year.
Whether bonding over rehearsal experiences or the adventures of camp life, your time spent with people here can lead to friendships that continue long after camp ends.

4. The instructors know their stuff.
Because Interlochen’s world-class reputation draws high-caliber students, we hire the best faculty available to teach our high school summer art programs. We want you to learn from experienced experts who’ve been on an artistic journey themselves and care about guiding you on yours.

5. Variety is the spice of life.
Our high school summer art programs cover seven artistic disciplines, including: creative writing, dance, film and new media, interdisciplinary arts, music, theatre, and visual arts. We also offer multiple collaborative opportunities across arts areas.

6. Check out our facilities.
For nearly one hundred years, our camps have been rated as America’s best arts education opportunity for young people. So, we’ve built and designed incredible workspaces and classrooms—where creating art is a joy. Stepping onto our campus is sure to bring some new inspiration.

7. Free time = canoeing.
While you may think you want to spend every moment of every day creating your art, we know you need a break. That’s why we’ve added some of America’s favorite camp amenities to our campus like swimming, water sports, cabin activities, team competitions, and much more.

8. We care about college prep.
We recognize that getting ready for college (or a career) is very important for high school artists. As such, we’ve designed programs that contribute to your portfolio and prep you for what’s next. High school summer art programs at Interlochen aren’t frivolous—we take your future seriously.

9. Time is of the essence.
Whether it’s a one-week intensive, a three-week program, or a six-week production, our diverse arts camps offer multiple sessions throughout the summer and for varying lengths of time. Apply for the program that best suits your needs as a young artist.

10. Show and tell.
Exhibit and performance opportunities are an important part of an arts camp experience. And we want you to be proud of the work you produce during your time here. So, each session includes opportunities—whether it be exhibitions, readings, screenings, or performances—to show your creativity and enjoy the work of your friends.
