Summer snapshot: Scenes from Arts Camp 2024
Get a glimpse of the events, activities, and excitement of the 97th season of Interlochen Arts Camp.
Snippets of symphonies are soaring through the pines, blue-on-blue outfits are the season’s hottest trend, and the Melody Freeze’s ice cream machine is working overtime.
It all means one thing: Interlochen Arts Camp is in full swing.
This year, 3,344 students from 54 U.S. states and territories and 44 countries—the largest enrollment in Camp history—have convened in northern Michigan for a summer of artistic transformation, outdoor fun, and friendship.
Highlights of the 97th Camp season include the return of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; sold-out Interlochen Arts Festival performances by Interlochen alumnae Jewel (IAA 90-92) and Norah Jones (IAC 94-95); a vibrant performance of “Collage”; and dynamic theatre productions including Wonderful Town, Sense and Sensibility, Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, and the Interlochen Shakespeare Festival’s swing dance era-inspired production of The Comedy of Errors.
