Academy New Student Checklist
Please follow the checklist below to prepare yourself as a new student at Interlochen Arts Academy.
Many items on your to-do list are online tasks that can be completed in the Education Community. Once you are logged in to the Community, click "Next Step: Welcome to Academy" to see your outstanding tasks.
The Arts Academy Student Handbook contains the Academy pledge, policies, guidelines, and important information crucial to your time here. Please read this handbook in its entirety before you arrive on campus. You are also asked to take the Academy Pledge, and abide by all rules at all times while you are enrolled at Arts Academy.
To secure your spot at Arts Academy, please pay your enrollment deposit as soon as possible. Your enrollment deposit may be submitted by logging into the Education Community.
The Education Community is your home base for all required forms, student banking, class registration, and more. New required items are added to the Education Community regularly. Please log in now to view your to-dos.
In the weeks leading up to your arrival, look to the Education Community for a letter from your arts division leader with program-specific details and requirements.
All students should review the Emergency Procedures before arriving on campus.
Our on-campus student bookstore is your go-to for text books and art supplies. Many of these items can be purchased once you arrive on campus.
Interlochen provides transportation services from the Traverse City airport (TVC) and Traverse City bus station to the Interlochen Arts Academy campus. Be sure to let us know how and when you are arriving by completing the Travel Forms in the Education Community.
Review the packing list to see required and recommended items for your major.
Your student account can be used to make purchases at the Scholarshop, Melody Freeze, and to cover various on-campus expenses. You may make a deposit into your student account by logging into the Education Community.
