Standardized Testing
Test Preparation
Many of our students utilize the summer to engage in test preparation. These engagements range from free online resources to private tutoring. There will also be an opportunity for test preparation during both first and second semesters. Below are services to jump start your preparation:
Practice Tests
Testing Timeline
- Freshman / 9th grade
PSAT9 in the spring - Interlochen Arts Academy will register each student - Sophomore / 10th grade
PSAT10 in the spring - Interlochen Arts Academy will register each student - Junior / 11th grade
PSAT/NMSQT in October - Interlochen Arts Academy will register each student. We recommend that students take the April ACT and May or June SAT exam - students must register TOEFL in the spring (non-native English speakers only) - Senior / 12th grade
We recommend that students take either the ACT (Sept.) or SAT (Oct./Nov.) depending on which they prefer and TOEFL in the fall (non-native English speakers only)
*We encourage all of our students to consider taking both the SAT and ACT in the spring of their junior year. This will give them the opportunity to determine which test is right for them and utilize the summer to prepare for that exam in the fall.
