Engagement Council
Interlochen's Engagement Council is an advisory body representing Interlochen’s wide range of constituencies and supporting Interlochen's mission. The Council collaborates with the Office of Engagement and informs strategic priorities and initiatives to advance engagement efforts.
Membership is by invitation and includes alumni, parents, and volunteers committed to advancing Interlochen's engagement efforts. Council members are active advocates and ambassadors for Interlochen in their local communities and represent diverse affiliations, geographic regions, constituencies, and disciplines. The term of office for each Council member is two years. No Council member may serve more than three (3) terms in succession.
Each Council member is expected to serve on at least one Engagement Council committee, attend Council and committee meetings regularly, actively participate in the work of the Council, and attend Interlochen events affiliated with the Office of Engagement.
Council Committees
Committees contribute toward specific goals and actively participate in work that makes a difference. Committees meet three to four times yearly and focus on achieving goals outlined in a defined work plan. Membership includes Council members and other volunteers from the Interlochen community.
The Engagement Centennial Committee (ECC) supports the planning and development of communications, celebrations, and curated experiences/activities in anticipation of and during Interlochen’s 100th anniversary in 2028. Members will collaborate to develop events to honor Interlochen’s past and build excitement for Interlochen’s next 100 years. Members will consider strategies to effectively engage with stakeholders to celebrate and raise awareness of the institution. This committee will work collaboratively with senior leadership, the Board Centennial Celebrations Advisory Committee, and other Council committees. Staff Liaison: Shelby Eppich
