Concert & Event Policies
In order to have the best possible performance experience at Interlochen Center for the Arts, please review the following information.
Please call the Box Office at 800.681.5920 if you have additional questions about our policies.
Tickets are non-refundable unless you have purchased Ticket Protection which is available at checkout.
If you have purchased Ticket Protection, please contact us at ticketprotection@interlochen.org or call the Box Office at 800.681.5920 to receive a refund. Ticket Protection may be redeemed until one hour before the performance. Please note that parking and facility preservation fees are non-refundable.
If you have not purchased Ticket Protection, the sale is final. You will not be able to receive a refund, exchange, or box office credit for your tickets unless the performance is canceled. You will have the option to donate your ticket back to support student scholarships at Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Arts Camp.
Only clear bags or clear plastic resealable bags are permitted into our venues. We allow any type of clear bag as long as it is clear and the items inside are loose. There are no size requirements.
For your safety, we have enhanced security measures for guest artist performances in Kresge Auditorium. Every patron will be screened prior to entering the venue. No weapons will be allowed inside (including pocket knives of all sizes).
Cameras and recording devices are prohibited inside our venues.
Michigan law prohibits any weapons, including concealed weapons and knives of any size, on Interlochen property.
Interlochen prohibits smoking on campus.
Alcohol is also prohibited on campus, except during select Interlochen Arts Festival performances in Kresge Auditorium. A selection of alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and hard seltzer, can be purchased at the Beer and Wine Patio. Must be 21 or older with a valid I.D. Only patrons with a 21+ verified wristband will be served.
Consuming alcohol outside the Kresge Auditorium gates is strictly prohibited. Please drink responsibly.
Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of Interlochen management. We work with the artists to determine when late seating is appropriate and will be the least disruptive to the artists and other ticket patrons. Every effort will be made to seat latecomers in a timely manner, however, the nature of some events do not allow for seating after the performance has begun. Latecomers will be asked to wait to be seated until a predetermined time in the program and are not guaranteed the exact seat they purchased.
For the majority of Interlochen guest artist performances, children under the age of three (3) will not be admitted. All children must be able to sit quietly in their own seats throughout the performance. Please use discretion in choosing to bring a young child. Children of all ages are welcome to attend designated Interlochen Center for the Arts family performances, including most student and faculty performances. Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter.
Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside our venues.
Only bottled beverages purchased from the Melody Freeze or the Grill tent are permitted inside of Kresge Auditorium.
Every effort will be made to complete the performance, including playing in light rain. In the event a performance is cancelled due to inclement weather before a full 60 minutes of the performance and/or intermission, a full refund will be issued. Depending on the method of payment, the refund will be applied to the credit card used to purchase the tickets or we will mail you a check no later than two weeks after the performance date. If the performance is cancelled after intermission or 1 hour into the event, a gift certificate will be emailed to you. Gift certificates are good for 5 years and may be redeemed for any performance. Since summer precipitation usually moves through northwest Michigan quickly, we will never cancel an Interlochen performance before the scheduled start time due to weather. Please note that service charges are non-refundable.
All tickets for productions in Harvey and Phoenix Theatres will be held at will call and may be picked up at the venue starting 1 hour prior to the performance. Fifteen minutes prior to start time, all unclaimed tickets will be considered void and may be released to the waiting line. Please arrive at least 20 minutes early. This policy ensures that people are not turned away when empty seats remain and that the actors have as many people in the audience as possible.
As a courtesy to our artists, students, and other members of the audience, please keep noise to a minimum during classical performances. Interlochen reserves the right to remove disruptive persons from our venues.
The beach and lakeshore areas of campus are not open to the public. Interlochen does not have public docks; watercraft can not be beached or left unattended on Interlochen property at any time.
