Celebrate one of Interlochen Arts Camp's most cherished traditions with the 99th annual performance of "Les Préludes." For nearly a century, this moving end of summer ritual has marked the close of the Camp season with artistry, pride, and lasting emotion.
The World Youth Wind Symphony, conducted by Kevin Sedatole, opens the performance with Percy Grainger's beloved Molly on the Shore, a vibrant setting of traditional Irish reels. Benjamin Horne's Spiritual Symphony follows with an impassioned collage of familiar spiritual melodies, and Edwin Franco Goldman's Interlochen Bowl March closes the first half by honoring the legacy and traditions of Interlochen.
Musicians of the World Youth Wind Symphony then join their colleagues in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra, Interlochen Philharmonic, and Interlochen Summer Dance Ensemble for the annual summer camp finale, Franz Liszt's "Les Préludes", conducted by Creston Herron.
Tune in to Classical IPR at 7 p.m. for interviews and insights into the evening's repertoire, then enjoy the full performance broadcast live.
