In Memoriam: March 2022

Larry Dittmar (IAC St 57-66, 75-94, 96-05) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, a music educator and long-time staff member of National Music Camp and Interlochen Arts Camp, passed away on March 8, 2022. Dittmar spent 40 summers at Interlochen between 1957 and 2005, primarily in the Intermediate and All State divisions and the Concert Office. He met his wife, Prudy, a 29-year Camp employee, at Interlochen and both of his children attended Camp. Dittmar's passion for music and the arts inspired and changed many lives. A dedicated teacher and orchestra conductor, he was honored in 2013 by the Michigan chapter of the American String Teachers Association with their Career Achievement Award.

David Melnick (IAC/NMC 55) of San Francisco, California, passed away on Feb. 15, 2022.

Corinne Chapelle (IAC/NMC 84-85) of Irvine, California, passed away on March 23, 2021.

Nancy Walenter (IAC St 88-91, 13-15, ICA St 16-21) of Interlochen, Michigan, passed away on Feb. 12, 2022.
