During this week, you will explore new techniques to help your playing excel. Collaborate with other young musicians and develop your talent alongside our world-class faculty.

What You'll Learn

This one-week guitar camp intensive gathers motivated young guitarists and prestigious faculty for a week of concentrated study. The curriculum includes:

Program Features

Student Recital

Students will be selected to perform solos and chamber music on a culminating student recital which also features a world premiere of a new work for guitar ensemble.

Workshops

Students will participate in technique workshops and seminars on a variety of topics ranging from college auditions and competition preparation to nail care.

Master Classes

Students will take private lessons and master classes with our world-class faculty.

Faculty and Student Recitals

The program features performances by faculty and culminates with a student recital, including a world-premiere performance of a new work for guitar ensemble.

Program Highlights

Distinguished Faculty

Our guitar faculty are professional musicians and instructors who teach at Interlochen and other institutions from around the globe. Our instructors are professional artists who are active participants in the music world. 

The Music Center

Our state-of-the-art 60,000 square-foot music facility has two 3,500 square-foot rehearsal halls, two recording studios which allow for rehearsal and performance recordings in multiple venues on campus with multiple ensemble and practice rooms, and individual faculty teaching studios. Learn more about The Music Center.

Additional Opportunities

We have many additional camp program opportunities for young guitarists, including: High School Jazz Performance & Improvisation Program, High School Rock/Pop Performance Program, and High School Singer-Songwriter Program.

Interlochen is also home to the Arts Academy boarding high school, which offers six music programs for grades 9-12, as well as a postgraduate year.
