Why Take Music Production & Engineering

Music production can make or break a recorded song or album. This program will help you learn to balance technology and artistry to make recorded music come alive, while mastering the foundations of professional music studio production.

What You'll Learn

During this music production summer program, you will master the primary elements of music production and engineering—and then proceed to work with some of the most powerful tools available in the industry. Our curriculum helps you:

Program Highlights

The Music Center

Our state-of-the-art 60,000 square-foot music facility has two 3,500 square-foot rehearsal halls, two recording studios which allow for rehearsal and performance recordings in multiple venues on campus with multiple ensemble and practice rooms, and individual faculty teaching studios. Learn more about The Music Center.

Live Music Sessions

While at Interlochen, you will have the opportunity to work with your fellow students to record live music. Test your skills with a variety of recording techniques using top-of-the-line tools and technology.

Additional Opportunities

Interlochen is also home to the Arts Academy boarding high school, which offers a Music Production & Engineering program for grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year.

Interlochen has given me more confidence in my ability to produce music. After being around such passionate people, Arts Camp really sparked my fire of wanting to create.
