Interlochen Arts Festival headliners Bruce Hornsby and Wilco drop new albums
The two bands, who perform in June and August, will bring their new music to Interlochen’s stage.
Each summer, Interlochen welcomes a diverse lineup of performers to its scenic campus for the annual Arts Festival—and two bands just released new music ahead of their upcoming concerts.
Bruce Hornsby dropped his 23rd studio album entitled ‘Flicted, which is available for online streaming May 27. The album is the third in a series of song collections Hornsby wrote for acclaimed film director Spike Lee. The twelve tracks of ‘Flicted include the lead single “Sidelines” with Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, as well as a re-imagining of Chuck Berry’s “Too Much Monkey Business.” Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers perform at Interlochen’s Kresge Auditorium June 20, 2022.
Wilco released Cruel Country on May 27. The double album, recorded at The Loft, includes 21 songs which feature all six members of the band. "It’s a style of recording that forces a band to surrender control and learn to trust each other, along with each others’ imperfections, musical and otherwise,” says Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy. Rolling Stone called Cruel Country “a beautifully rootsy album with a broken sense of patriotic concern.” Wilco’s Cruel Country tour performs at Interlochen on August 17, 2022.
