Holiday nostalgia takes center stage at this year’s Sounds of the Season
Join Santa Claus, the Peanuts gang, and more beloved characters for an evening sure to make your spirits bright.
For concert-goers looking for a performance perfect for getting into the holiday spirit, Interlochen’s Sounds of the Season promises to fit the bill. This annual holiday spectacular brings together Interlochen Arts Academy students, as well as staff and faculty, for a lively lineup of seasonal tunes.
This year’s performance will feature the Interlochen Arts Academy Choirs and Wind Symphony, plus students and faculty from Theatre, Dance, and Interdisciplinary Arts. The concert will also include cameos by some favorite Christmas characters, including the Peanuts gang and a very jolly Santa Claus. Themes of nostalgia take center stage, with plenty of classic holiday hits to set the tone. Audiences of all ages will be sure to enjoy the sing-along that closes out the evening.
"Each year, Arts Academy students and faculty come together to celebrate the joy the holiday season brings through a family-friendly concert," says Brent Wrobel, Executive Director of Interlochen Presents. "Sounds of the Season is full of spirited seasonal favorites that will make you laugh and touch your heart. It's the perfect way to get in the right mood for the holiday season."
Local audiences can choose from two dates: Thursday, Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 20th. The Thursday program will also be broadcast live on Classical IPR, available for online streaming and FM radio.
