“Nutcracker” Youth Coloring Contest

Students in grades K-6 are invited to take part in a coloring contest for an opportunity to win tickets to a performance and behind-the-scenes tour of Interlochen Arts Academy's "The Nutcracker."

We’re delighted to announce the winners of our inaugural Nutcracker Coloring Contest: Nellie, age 6, and Stella, age 10!

We received so many incredible entries—it was difficult to choose just two winners! Nellie and Stella will receive free tickets to an evening performance as well as a pre-curtain backstage tour.

Thank you to all the wonderful young artists who shared their work with us. We hope to see you at The Nutcracker next week!

To celebrate the return of live audiences to Interlochen Arts Academy’s The Nutcracker this season, Interlochen will host a youth drawing contest for an opportunity to win tickets to a performance. The contest runs Nov. 15 through Dec. 1, with winners announced Dec. 2. Winners will receive their choice of four tickets for either the Friday, Dec. 10 or Saturday, Dec. 11 evening performance, and a pre-curtain behind-the-scenes tour. All entries must be received by Dec. 1 to be eligible.

How to enter the contest

To participate, students must be in grades K-6.

Step 1: Color this drawing, adding your own whimsical details, or draw your favorite scene or character from The Nutcracker. You may choose whichever moment or character you wish—from the Sugar Plum Fairy to Herr Drosselmeyer, from the battle against the Mouse King to the Waltz of the Flowers and beyond. Use your imagination and be creative!
