Interlochen’s music production lessons can expose you to the current industry tools, showing you how to enhance your tracks with quantization, audio or MIDI loops, panning, EQ, and reverb. Whether you are interested in ProTools, Logic, Cubase, or another industry-standard software, our faculty can help you navigate your preferred digital audition workstation (DAW).
The online music production lessons are also packed with instruction about how to record music at home, how to set appropriate microphone levels, record enable, and monitor a rough mix in a session.
Deliver a Polished, Great-Sounding Final Product
Interlochen Online courses let you complete an entire project from start to finish over four weeks with expert feedback. This class will include approximately five hours of learning each week, letting you work your studies around your life schedule. You’ll apply what you have learned each week—whether that’s how to use a new plug-in or how to balance your levels—to your tracks. Your instructors will listen to your work and provide critical personalized feedback on how to improve the quality and clarity of your mixes.
Every week, you’ll meet with an instructor and fellow classmates online to discuss content from the curriculum together. Our teachers work to accommodate students’ schedules to find an online class meeting time that can allow everyone to be online together. Video recordings of the lessons are uploaded for later viewing as well if you miss the class. The class segments include detailed instruction, guidance from a skilled instructor, and interactive learning with teacher and fellow students in real time.
Project work, outside of the scheduled class time, gives you valuable, hands-on practice and can be completed whenever it fits your schedule during the week. In just four weeks, you’ll have a finished project—a multi-track, mixed recording that showcases all of your newly acquired music production techniques.
