In Memoriam: September 2024

Winston “Jack” Budrow (IAC Fac 79-17, 19) of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on Sept. 4, 2024. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s foremost double bass teachers, Budrow taught at Interlochen Arts Camp for nearly 40 years and was a professor of double bass and co-chair of strings at Michigan State University. Budrow also enjoyed a vibrant career as a performer—holding principal bass positions with the North Carolina Symphony, American National Opera, and Santa Fe Opera—and served on the Board of Directors of the International Society of Bassists.

Ruth Browning Noyce (IAC/NMC 42-43, UNIV 44-45, IAC St 46) of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Aug. 27, 2024.
