Why Take Acting
Great actors have presence, commitment, and true empathy for the human spirit. At Interlochen, you will grow in these areas and more. You'll have the unique opportunity to work on both stage and screen. Expert actors and educators will broaden your technique in a beautiful, active, and immersive setting.
What You'll Learn
You will strengthen your acting skills through a curriculum that explores both scripted and improvisational work. A mix of experiences that includes on-camera work will help you develop a consistent and reliable acting process that you can adapt to a variety of scripts and styles. Distinguished Faculty
Our faculty teach and perform at Interlochen Arts Academy and other prestigious institutions and venues around the world. They've devoted their lives to theatre and teaching the next generation of young artists.
Additional Opportunities
You are also welcome to apply to our one-week Acting Intensive program and six-week Acting Company Production Summer Program for High School Students.
Interlochen is home to the Arts Academy boarding high school, which offers theatre programs in Acting, Musical Theatre, and Theatre Design & Production for grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year.
I do not get the opportunity to act in film and receive this experience in my hometown. I want to continue to foster my love for film and acting into adulthood, and the training I've received here will take me far. There is no other way I'd like to spend my summer.
