Why Take Acting Company Production

Are you ready to immerse yourself in theatre? Our acting company production program is a chance for serious young actors to work with world-class faculty to fine-tune their skills, connect with other artists, and plan for a future in the performing arts.

What You'll Learn

In this pre-professional training program, you'll take courses to further develop your acting and performance skills. You'll also perform in a play from classical or contemporary repertoire, with full design and technical support in Interlochen's state-of-the-art Harvey Theatre.

To prepare for the production, repertory acting camp students participate in the following:

  • Production rehearsal
  • Acting technique class
  • Classes in voice and movement

High School Musical Theatre Production students perform Stephen Flaherty, Lynn Ahrens, and Terrence McNally’s Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime during the 2023 Interlochen Arts Camp session.

Performance Opportunities

The summer program ends with a multi-performance run in the Harvey Theatre. The production enjoys full design and technical support throughout—with professionally designed scenery, costumes, and lighting—making it a truly professional experience from start-to-finish.

Theatre Venues & Facilities

Our campus boasts several state-of-the-art performance venues and facilities. The Harvey Theatre Complex contains classrooms, rehearsal spaces, and a 173-seat theatre. We also have two additional performance spaces, the 952-seat Corson Auditorium and the 170-seat black box Phoenix Theatre. The Mallory Costume Shop and our professional scene shop are state-of-the-art spaces also dedicated to our theatre program. Learn more about all of our facilities and venues.

Additional Opportunities

Interlochen also offers an Acting program, and a one-week Acting Audition Intensive. If you're interested in scenery, costumes, lighting, or stage management, you can apply for the Theatre Design & Production program. Interlochen is also home to the Arts Academy boarding high school, which offers theatre programs in Acting, Musical Theatre, and Theatre Design & Production for grades 9-12, as well as a post-graduate year.
