Music Audition Requirements for Summer Programs (Grades 6-8)
Classical Music Programs
Please submit video recordings featuring two contrasting works: one demonstrating lyricism and another demonstrating technique. Upon acceptance, students will be placed into a performance ensemble, as appropriate (Orchestra or Wind Ensemble).

Placement Video
New and returning students who have been accepted into the Intermediate Jazz Performance and Improvisation Program will prepare Pre-Arrival Placement Videos prior to camp to determine ensemble and seating placement. Specific requirements and repertoire will be noted in your Program Letter in the Education Community — we will notify you by email when this is ready for you to access. Students must submit their videos between May 1 and May 23 through the Education Community. Camp faculty committees will review files to determine ensemble and seating placement.
Students in this program will work from chord charts. If you have no prior knowledge of reading music or charts, we still welcome you to apply. However, it's highly encouraged that you familiarize yourself with what chord charts are prior to camp.
Please submit one to three video recordings of work that best represents you as an artist at this time. You may play or sing along to a track, but be sure that the volume of your instrument is louder than the track. If you are performing in an ensemble, please make sure you are clearly highlighted.
Please submit both a video recording of a self-accompanied, personal performance of an original composition as well as a PDF file of the written lyrics.
